New Social Media Age Restrictions for Australians Under 16
From 10 December 2025, new rules in Australia will make social media safer for kids and teens under 16. Big platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, and YouTube must stop anyone under 16 from making an account. However, young people under 16 can still look at public posts without logging in. These changes are meant to better protect children and teenagers online.
